The fairy has asked her question, the willow wisps have imparted their wisdom... does she like the answer? what will this fairy do with the knowledge she now holds?

This one came along much further than was intended, wasn't originally happy with the sketch but am reaaly pleased with it now.
her fairy powers are strong, equaling perhaps even those of the fairy taarna,
yet she is a calming and soothing influence on both the fairy courts of the seelie
and the dark fairy of the unseelie court.

Axis Approach

This is my final entry submission to the Eon 2D Illustration competition. It is a realisation of Patricias approach to Axis Nader and the overwhelming geometry of 'The Way'.

I had a cracking time on this competition and extend a warm hello to the friends I hope I have made and who helped make this piece what it is. Cheers all!

Most of the hours consumed on this piece were in an attempt to work out a relatively (to me) complex perspective issue due to the point of view chosen. Cinema 4d was toyed with to try and iron out those problems, but by and large Photoshop was the software used. Drew quite a bit of technical inspiration from the Gnomon discs also, in particular the David Levy disc.

Any comments/crits gratefully appreciated as this is my first environment piece

Naughty V; Are You Coming

I have recently been struck with a desire to do dark, gothy and slightly naughty faeries. Valentines being right around the corner has had me playing with a few ideas and this is one of the outcomes.

Poser and photoshop over the course of one weekend so I am pleased with the time aswell. Anyone who knows of some good tutorial sites for poser and in particular texture mapping please comment as this is also the first peice that I have played around with creating my own textures.

Edit... 01/08/07 - this is updated work on the image

In The Quiet Places

My first real work using Poser 6. A character development piece that will be part of a series which will hopefully interest potential card publishers for a christmas / winter solstice themed card.

The model was lit using Poser lights. Everything except the figure is done in Photoshop using a blend of photography and custom brushes. The model was also colour balanced in Photoshop. I know the piece uses the good ol' lens flare but it did really seem to suit the mood better than any other lighting effects that were done.

Total time was probably about 6 hours which I am quite pleased with. Anyone who wishes to critique please feel free to be ruthless or generous all comments are welcome.

On the eve of the final battle when all are weary and resigned to this fateful day one young soldier looks out to the far horizon, and there, she sees hope...

Produced in photoshop from pencil sketches. Quite a few hours went into this as a developmental piece and the outcome is a new direction in style from that which I have followed till now.

Any comments you have please feel free to make them as all critique is valuable.
